Review Process for PEACE Eminent Entrepreneur Award

The review process for the PEACE Eminent Entrepreneur Award is designed to ensure a thorough and impartial evaluation of nominees. Here's an overview of the process:

Nomination Phase: The process begins with the acceptance of nominations from women entrepreneurs in Madurai City from Green Fem Producers and from local women entrepreneurs. Nominations are carefully reviewed for eligibility and completeness. You can nominate yourselves if you are a woman entrepreneur or nominate others.

Panel Selection: PEACE selected a diverse panel of experts and leaders, including members of the PEACE board, to serve as the review committee.

Application Review: Nominees are invited to submit detailed applications. These applications provide a comprehensive overview of their entrepreneurial journey, achievements, and impact.

Evaluation Criteria: Each award category (Eminent Entrepreneur, Resilient Entrepreneur, Visionary Entrepreneur, Innovative Entrepreneur, Change Maker Entrepreneur, Enterprise Icon) has specific evaluation criteria, which are applied consistently during the review process.

Scoring and Ranking: The expert panel evaluates nominees based on the established criteria, assigning scores for each criterion. Nominees are ranked according to their scores. (Check the criteria and rubric)

Finalist Selection: The highest-scoring nominees in each award category become finalists. The panel conducts further discussions and evaluations to select the award recipients. While decisions will primarily be based on the degree of success achieved, we also aim to provide support to women entrepreneurs facing challenges. Therefore, in addition to the 6 awards, we will also present a number of consolation prizes (cash awards) to those entrepreneurs who have shown persistence and resilience.

Recipient Announcement: The award recipients are officially announced and recognized during a prestigious PEACE awards ceremony, celebrating their outstanding contributions to the world of entrepreneurship. The award ceremony will have three government officials as its distinguished guests.

Criteria 1: Occupational Background and Experience

Description: Evaluate the nominee's prior occupation/business and years of experience.
Score:

  • 0: Unrelated occupation or limited experience.
  • 1-2: Somewhat related occupation or moderate experience.
  • 3-4: Related occupation or substantial experience.
  • 5: Highly relevant occupation or extensive experience.
Criteria 2: Motivation for Entrepreneurship

Description: Assess the nominee's motivation for starting their own business.
Score:

  • 0: Motivated primarily by external factors.
  • 1-2: Mixed motivations, including personal interest.
  • 3-4: Driven by personal interest and financial goals.
  • 5: Entrepreneurship driven primarily by personal passion and commitment.
Criteria 3: Utilization of Innovative Ideas/Technology

Description: Evaluate whether the nominee's business utilizes innovative ideas or information technology.
Score:

  • 0: No utilization of innovative ideas or technology.
  • 1-2: Limited use of technology or innovation.
  • 3-4: Moderate use of technology or innovative approaches.
  • 5: Extensive use of technology and innovative strategies.
Criteria 4: Income Progression

Description: Assess the nominee's income progression from prior to starting the business to the first year and the year 2022.
Score:

  • 0: Minimal income progression.
  • 1-2: Moderate income improvement.
  • 3-4: Substantial income growth.
  • 5: Significant income advancement.
Criteria 5: Business Size and Growth

Description: Evaluate the size of the nominee's business and its growth.
Score:

  • 0: No employees and limited growth.

  • 5: Significant workforce and impressive growth.
Criteria 6: Market Reach

Description: Assess the extent of the nominee's market reach (local, national, international).
Score:

  • 0: Limited market reach (local only).
  • 1-2: National market reach.
  • 3-4: International market presence.
  • 5: Global market reach.
Criteria 7: Challenges Faced

Description: Identify the challenges and obstacles currently faced by the nominee.
Score:

  • 0: Few or no significant challenges.

  • 3-4: Significant challenges, including competition or funding issues.
  • 5: Multiple substantial challenges, including work-life balance and gender bias.
